El Torres, un guionista de cómic español que aterroriza a los norteamericanos

Se publica en España su nueva serie, ‘Las brujas de Westwood’
Una historia en la que recupera el icono clásico de las Brujas
Y para la que ha creado su propia editorial en EE.UU.

Juan Antonio Torres se ha convertido en uno de los guionistas de referencia en el género del comic de terror. Firma sus trabajos como “El Torres” y ha sorprendido a lectores de ambos lados del Atlántico con obras como El bosque de los suicidasEl velo y Tambores (Dib>buks). Su nuevo relato se llama Las brujas de Westwood una serie de 4 números que en España podemos leer en un solo volumen también publicado por la editorial Dib>buks.

El Torres nos ha contado que ha recuperado el icono clásico de la bruja, actualizándolo a nuestros tiempos. Y nos ha dado más detalles sobre la elaboración de esta interesante historia de brujería, para cuya publicación que ha puesto en marcha su propia editorial en EE.UU. Amigo comics. Una historia “Embrujada”

El lanzamiento de la serie Las brujas de Westwood en el mercado americano ha sufrido numerosas dificultades, algo que parecía realmente “cosa de brujas”, aplazamientos, problemas de imprenta…

Esas complicaciones, además de sugestionar al autor, hicieron que la serie contase con tres equipos artísticos diferentes. Abel García dibujó los dos primeros episodios; no pudo continuar por otros compromisos profesionales, y el tercer capítulo lo elaboró Roger Bonet con el color de Eva Román. El cuarto número corrió a cargo de Ángel Hernández.

Para la edición española en un solo volumen, el equipo artístico se ha quedado en sólo dos dibujantes. Ángel Hernández ha vuelto a dibujar íntegramente el tercer capítulo, por un motivo de coherencia, según nos ha explicado El Torres, que confía en poder facilitarnos la lectura on-line del episodio de Bonet.
